“Professor Daniel Khan OBE was invited to speak at the European Union in Brussels on 5 November about “Developing Entrepreneurial skills among Professionals”. He stated that academic programmes like Medicine, Law, Architecture etc. focused on core skills and competencies. They did not consider the possibility that Professionals in these fields might one day run their own businesses. He therefore believed that academic courses in these subjects should aim at developing an entrepreneurial mindset among participants and foster an entrepreneurial approach. Since the 1990's the UK and the EU have recognised the problem. Several reports have been produced but the failure of Academia and Practitioners to work together in a cohesive manner means that it is now even more important to resolve the issue as soon as possible.”
