Computer Systems (15 credits)
This unit will give students an understanding of computer systems and enable them to apply theoretical knowledge to practical applications when building, configuring and maintaining computer systems.
Networking Concepts (15 credits)
This unit will provide students with an understanding of computer networks and enable them to design a local area network, incorporating the technologies and techniques studied.
Programming Concepts (15 credits)
This unit will enable students to develop an understanding of the general principles and basic concepts of programming and for them to be able to design and implement computer programming solutions.
Database Design Concepts Systems Analysis (15 credits)
The aim of this unit is to provide students with an understanding of the concepts and issues relating to databases and database design and provide them with the practical skills to design a database and demonstrate its functionality.
Systems Analysis (15 credits)
This unit will provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to undertake a systems analysis investigation by following a recognised methodology.
Networking Technology (15 credits)
This unit will enable students to further develop their understanding of networking technology by undertaking critical analysis and evaluation of the technologies and architectural approaches covered in the Networking Concepts unit.
Website Design (15 credits)
This unit will enable students to understand the concepts of website design and for them to apply their own creativity in designing and developing interactive websites.
Personal Skills Development (15 credits)
This unit will provide students with an understanding of transferable skills, sometimes referred to as soft skills, and the application of these skills in career development and in the workplace.
