Tuition fees cover the cost of all teaching and full access to the materials in our libraries.

HND courses

Tuition fees cover the cost of all teaching and full access to the materials in our libraries.

For students to be eligible for SLC funding, they must be studying a designated course. Courses at this institution are designated each year by the Department for Education. 

Fees and funding

Tuition fees cover the cost of all teaching as well as full access to the materials in our libraries. This excludes any course related costs which may include the following: notebooks, writing materials, laptops and other learning equipment necessary.

Student loans – UK students

Home (UK) undergraduate students are eligible to apply for student loans, which are paid directly to us by the Student Loan Company:

• The maximum loan you can apply for is the full tuition fee
• Any difference in fees not covered by the tuition fee loan must be paid by you
• Tuition Fee Loans are available regardless of family income
• You will only start repaying your course fees once you earn over £25,000 per year

Student loans - eligibility

Nationality or residency status

In order to be eligible to apply for a student loan to cover your tuition fees, you must:

• Be a UK national or have ‘settled status’ (meaning there are no restrictions on how long you can stay in the UK)
• Normally live in England
• Have been living in the UK for at least 3 years before the first day of the first academic year of the course.

The first day of the first academic year of their current courses is explained below:

• 1 September, if the course starts between 1 August and 31 December
• 1 January, if the course starts between 1 January and 31 March
• 1 April, if the course starts between 1 April and 30 June
• 1 July, if the course starts between 1 July and 31 July

You may also be eligible to apply for a student loan if you fit one of the following categories:

• An EU national, or a relative of one
• A refugee, or a relative of one
• Under humanitarian protection, or a relative of someone under humanitarian protection
• Under 18 and have lived in the UK for at least 7 years
• 18 or over and have lived in the UK for at least 20 years (or at least half of their life)
• An EEA or Swiss migrant worker, or a relative of one
• A child of a Swiss national
• A child of a Turkish worker

A stateless person, or a relative of one.

Living costs

UK undergraduate students are able to apply for maintenance loans via the Student Loans Company. EU and EAA students may also be eligible for funding via Student Finance England. 

The costs you must cover while studying will also vary depending on your accommodation arrangements. They could include:

• Accommodation type
• Heating
• Gas/electricity
• Food
• Clothing
• Books
• Daily travel
• Entertainment
