Professor Daniel Khan OBE appointed as new Principal


St Patrick’s is proud to announce the appointment of Professor Daniel Khan OBE as its new Principal. With wide experience in education management, Prof Khan joins St Patrick’s in a moment of clear expansion, aiming to further increase and strengthen academic development.

Founded in 1803, St Patrick's has grown into a top-level learning institution with a leading academic body focused on developing the careers of students from around the world.

Education leader

As an industry leader, Prof Khan became the first recipient of the UK High Commission’s Star Award for Leadership in the Education sector in 2005. In 2008 he was awarded an Officer of the British Empire (OBE) Award by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, also for his contribution to Education.

Prof Khan also held roles at the University of London, the Institute for Education, the School of African and Oriental Studies, the Institute of Neurology, York College, Open College Network London and Principal at Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education. His qualifications include a Masters in Financial Management a Diploma in Theology and he is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Commenting on his appointment, Prof Khan said: “St Patrick’s has a long and very successful story and it is one of my goals to strengthen the college’s position in the UK higher education market. For over 200 years, the school has been teaching aspiring students and helping them reach their career goals. Working alongside a range of education institutions and employers, we want to provide students with even more opportunities to achieve more in their lives”.

With a track record in delivering practical results at education institutions in the UK, Prof Khan believes that by working in partnership with universities, employers and other key players in the knowledge economy, St Patrick’s can play a pivotal role in the strengthening of the sector and expanding access to education even further.
