31/07/2015

Staff from St Patrick’s College attended the Newham Chamber of Commerce conference last Wednesday, which was arranged in association with China UK Gateway. The event was held at the University of East London’s Knowledge Dock Business Centre.

The conference included a delegation of fourteen members from Hangzhou Federation of Industry & Commerce.

Thomas Chan, the current Queen’s representative for Redbridge and ex-Mayor of the borough, gave a presentation on building strong business networks between UK and Chinese SMEs. He also acted as a translator for the UK and Chinese attendees.

The aim of the conference was to facilitate business, investment, and mutual understanding, as well as helping to build effective partnerships for sustainable development between China and the UK.

The event also provided St Patrick’s staff with a platform for networking, acquiring useful contacts, and creating business development opportunities to help promote the college’s interests.
