St Patrick’s Head of Law elected to Society of Asian and BME Lawyers

Our congratulations go to St Patrick’s Head of Law, Ms. Kareesha Maitaram, on her election as official spokesperson and board member for the Society of Asian and Black Minority Ethnic (BME) Lawyers in the UK.

The main aim of the society is to promote diversity within the legal profession and to educate its members and their communities about legal and social issues that affect Asian and BME people.

Kareesha will be running legal clinic sessions on women’s empowerment, focusing on women’s and children’s rights. Her involvement will also benefit our School of Law, giving us more opportunities for guest speakers and academic events to enhance our law students’ learning experience.
