The event was attended by Barts Health NHS Trust, London’s largest NHS trust, London Care, which owns care homes throughout London, Carewatch, a UK-wide homecare provider and HC-One, the largest care provider in the UK. The employers were delighted with the level of student engagement and the high numbers of students signing up to receive their services.Global University Systems (GUS) and St Patrick’s teams jointly organised the first of many mini career fairs for St Patrick’s College School of Health.

The fair welcomed 300 enthusiastic students and many were immediately offered a wide range of paid employment opportunities.

Nitin Gupta, GUS Director of Student Services, said: “I am very pleased with the results we have achieved, which stood above and beyond expectations, and I am most excited about future plans. I also want to thank the St Patrick’s teams for their contributions and support.”

Gordon Wright, who leads the St Patrick’s team for career-related activities, and Anton Zakharov, GUS Chief of Staff, agreed that this event has been the biggest success achieved in years in career opportunities for students at the college.

The collaboration between the Careers team and the St Patrick’s team will continue to organise and deliver a series of mini careers fairs throughout the academic year. These will include hosting professional guest speakers in support of the health social curriculum, further broadening the students’ professional knowledge and experiences.

St Patrick’s College School of Health offers a range of undergraduate courses and postgraduate diplomas suitable for individuals from across the academic spectrum. The school is a pioneer in the use of modern learning methods. These include team work, problem solving exercises, independent thinking and the critical discussion of contemporary healthcare issues – within the UK and across the world.
